As you can see, there isn't a rubber grommet which means no contamination. The unique spiral fin design allows for adjustment in varying sizes of bottle openings. There is also a thoughtful lip design so the insert stops level at the top of the bottle opening--still allowing you to use your cap for closure and making it possible to retrieve the insert for future use.
